Probably the most basic of interactive design utilization, we can take time to appreciate this simple beauty in a well executed CSS powered website.

As a personal online resume of Ténor Vocalist Sébastien Guèze, this site utilizes a very dark palette accompanied by a fresh application of clean typography and subtle graphic elements. The combination of portraits fading in and out as a backdrop do little to distract from the interface. Instead, the images enhance the experience and invite the user to see into the artist’s character.

Controls at the bottom of the page allow users to scroll control which image they wish to see, while hiding content on the page for an unobstructed view. Within the main navigation, audio controls permit multiple samples of the artists music to play while visiting. Overall, the use of HTML and CSS showcases what is possible even for simple functionality and aesthetic.
