Quadcopter UAV Drones

Regular readers of any tech-informative material are probably well acquainted to robotic UAV drones. However, this isn’t your typical military attack drone often seen and heard about. Rather, a special type that is really stirring the airways further everyday. Quadcopters are the latest robotic fascination by enthusiasts and serious developers alike, and for good reason. These small but powerful machines are being used to fly in artful formations, maneuvering effortlessly amongst each other or even play in harmony a classic secret agent theme song. They also have created a large art installation as seen at the FRAC Centre in Orléans, France. The robots swarmed together to assemble a nearly 20-foot-high tower made of polystyrene foam blocks.

Each quadcopter is programmed to interact with the others via commands issued from a control module, and the motion capture sensors ensure that everything goes according to plan. A precision fleet management program will take control of the ‘copters should they come too close to one another, helping to avoid collisions and keep the work from bottlenecking.

What’s more is that since the opening of that installation, these powerhouse machines have been documented doing even crazier stunts and jaw dropping feats. Time will only tell what new capabilities they reveal and how these amazing machines will serve humanity.
